EQUIPMENT

As stated in the video I used the Profoto B1X 500 with a modeling lamp for lightpainting. However, this is a very expensive option for just lightpainting, and not even the most effective; it’s used mainly for strobing.

A great budget option can be found on Amazon for only $22. The NEEWER 160 LED CN-160 Dimmable Ultra High Power Panel — save the money and get the same results as in the video!

A more expensive option than this LED panel, yet still significantly cheaper than the Profoto is the Westcott Ice Light 2 — which can definitely serve you much more purpose further than just lightpainting.

EDITING

Editing a lightpainted image will 100% require Photoshop. It requires basic layer stacking and blending knowledge, and masking knowledge is a huge plus.
